Championship Winning Super Nova Races across the Block at Russo and Steele’s Monterey Auction
Monterey, California (May 29, 2012) After sitting in storage for over 25 years, a 1964 Chevrolet Super Nova raced by Bill Jobe will cross the block at Russo and Steele in Monterey. This Super Nova took Jobe to the Southwest Division Championship in 1971 and 1972.
It earned first in class in over 20 races and ended up in the Corvette News. Today, the car comes just as it left the track in 1972 along with its title, VIN, and trim tags in place. The Traco-prepared engine and Corvette Ramjet fuel injector with which the car raced remain in use. The Super Nova also features an original close-ratio transmission, transistor ignition, dash cluster, door panels, & shifter. It has full J-56 brake equipment, booster, and all Guldstrand suspension components. Four rare and original 8" Minilite wheels on the 375 horsepower car sweeten the deal.
This 1964 Chevrolet Super Nova will be sold at Russo and Steele’s 12thAnnual Monterey auction event this August 16-18, 2012 at the all new location on the waterfront; adjacent to the famous Fisherman’s Wharf.
