12 Aug Pristine Land Rover Defender 90 is a Sure Fire Rising Star at Russo and Steele’s 16th Annual Monterey Collector Automobile Auction Event!

For Immediate Release:

Scottsdale, Arizona (August 11th, 2016) – Production of the Defender began in 1983 as the Land Rover 110, a name which reflected the 110-inch (2,800 mm) wheelbase length. The Land Rover 90, with a 93-inch (2,362 mm) wheelbase, and Land Rover 127, with a 127-inch (3,226 mm) wheelbase, soon followed. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, and wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. Initially, the Land Rover was also available with a part-time 4WD system familiar to all derivatives produced since 1949. The part-time system failed to sell and was quickly dropped from the options list by 1984. While the engine and other body panels carried over from the Series III, mechanically the 90 and 110 were modernized, including coil springs, permanent four-wheel-drive derived from the Range Rover with a two-speed transfer case and locking centre differential, modernized interior, taller one-piece windscreen, and a new series of progressively more powerful modern engines.

This extremely desirable and iconic 1995 Defender 90 is a three-owner example from new, featuring a manual transmission and original 3.9L V-8. It has travelled just 6,037 miles from new and a Carfax report verifies the miles are true. Always serviced regularly by certified Land Rover facilities, this D90 is presented in its original white over a neatly contrasting grey interior and offered with books, owner’s manuals, and tools. With room for plenty of friends to hit the road, this D90 is a top example of the vintage Land Rover Defender line, highly original with no excuses and showing as a 6,000-mile vehicle should, It deserves your close inspection today. The chances of finding another D90 of this calibre is likely non-existent in the marketplace today and this vehicle is one of the best available!
