RESERVE and NO RESERVE

At Russo and Steele we accept cars with and without reserve. We’ve done it both ways and our clients have told us that they prefer to have the choice. The advantage to reserve is that it provides a safety net against a sale below perceived value. There are drawbacks to a reserve auction however. From the buyers prospective, a reserve car isn’t really in play until the reserve has been lifted. This can be strongly discouraging to serious bidders. After all, why bother to show interest if the potential for an unrealistic reserve exists? While a no reserve auction present risks, it also generates interest, excitement and shows bidders that the sale is real. This often produces much stronger results. Combined with reduced fees, no reserve can be a very profitable option.

We’re not done when the reserve is off! Where as some companies pull the trigger the minute your reserve has been met, we take the time to work the room and insure that we produce the highest possible results. Some of our most memorable moments have come during these spirited exchanges. It feeds the excitement and energy that is our “Auctions in the Round” format, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

LET’S TALK LOT NUMBERS

We don’t sell lot numbers. Our job is to find the best buyers available for your car and the means assigning based on value consistency. Offering a $25,000 car in a group of $150,000 cars (or the other way around) makes little sense. Buyers assembled to bid on six figure cars are rarely interested in $25,000 cars. Similarly, offering six figure cars to buyers with a $30,000 ceiling is also highly ineffective. We assemble the run order in a manner that will put your car with like price points, insuring the right buyers will be exposed to the right cars. We are also careful not to stack similar cars too closely together, avoiding a false sense of over supply. We even take color into account as well as reserve and no reserve. Our goal is to maintain the highest level of excitement possible and produce the greatest results across all value ranges.

 

LOWEST FLAT FEES AND COMMISSIONS

We make it easy. No confusing rates or fees depending on price, lot number assignment, sale date, time, or hidden charges buried within sliding or graduated scales.
