This 1959 Buick LeSabre (with black CA plates) is a fine example of an unrestored survivor. The car was delivered new in California and remained in the city of Santa Cruz with only two owners prior to acquisition by the Consignor. It has never been in road salt and has been garaged continuously for many years. The car is finished in original Tawny Rose with an Arctic White top, a highly desirable color combination. The Magic Mirror lacquer is all original on all top surfaces with the sides having been touched up. All chrome shines beautifully without ever having any trace of rust. The interior original door panels and original upholstery are in excellent condition, indicating the seats were covered in clear plastic seat covers at one time. The dash pad is one of the nicest to be found. The steering wheel is perfect with no cracks or discolorations. The instrument panel bright work shines brilliantly with no pitting. The carpeting has been replaced and is not the original Tuxedo Grain type. The original Buick 364 V-8 runs very smoothly and sounds exactly like a Buick in 1959 with no modifications ever made. The Dynaflow transmission performs flawlessly and seamlessly. All major mechanical work was performed in 2015.
Cosmetically, keep in mind this is a 57-year-old unrestored car with some imperfections in the paint, stainless steel trim, etc., and is by no means a 100-point concours car. All in all, this is a time capsule Buick with iconic 1959 styling. The unique four door hardtop with wrap around backlight of the 1959-60 GM cars is highly regarded by many collectors. This car would make a wonderful addition to any noteworthy collection. Not restored and very rarely shown.
