The 1963 Sebring Cobras were the first to use rack and pin-ion steering and the 289 engine. Recognizable by its unique yellow striping and a cut-away driver’s door, CSX 2128 raced as a Shelby American factory team car from 3/63-7/63.
Sold to Coventry Motors, the cars success during the remainder of the 1963 season prompted Shelby American to buy it back for the 1964 season. Campaigned under three different configurations, this workhorse was among the most successful of the factory team Cobras. Extensively photographed,
CSX 2128 appears on the cover of the album -hey Little Cobra- by the Rip Chords.
