When Mercedes redesigned its famed SL for 1971, Mercedes started with the chassis of the mid-size W114/115 and added the engines from the large W116 S-Class. The result was a luxurious V-8 Convertible that ended up being the longest-running passenger car series ever produced by Mercedes to date. Of all, the final 560SL remains a prized automotive status symbol and an iconic part of the brand’s lineup.
This 1988 Mercedes 560 SL was completed at the Mercedes-Benz Sindelfingen plant and delivered new to the United States and Oklahoma. It is accompanied by clean Carfax and Autocheck reports. Today, this fine Mercedes-Benz presents in extraordinarily original condition throughout. With just 78,625 miles from new, it appears to be just a few years old, with original finishes throughout, and features the rare “kinderseat” option. An extremely original, high quality Mercedes-Benz, it is ideally suited to open-air touring with nearly all the power amenities of a modern car, yet with the elegance and style of the classic Mercedes-Benz SL.
