A 2-owner car, last owner for over 17 years. Car was purchased in Palo Alto from a lady that had owned it since ’67. This car has beautiful body work, the gaps are very good. The car was only painted once in 1986 and the paint is still excellent. The engine number fits in the sequence but is one digit off from the Porsche coa. The original paint code was signal red, but when it was repainted it was changed to ruby red. The interior is original with the exception of the front seats that were recovered and the carpets were changed. The headliner and door panels and everywhere else is original, without any damage. Everything works on the car, the radio, clock etc. The car has 118900 original miles. The engine was rebuilt at 100,000 miles and the crank and rod journals are standard. The pistons and cylinders are Mahle SC, with the aluminum fins, and a Delong cam, and original zenith carbs. The transmission is quiet and shifts smooth as butter.
Anytime the car has been in a concours or car show, the car has placed either 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I would classify the car in “street concours” rather than full concours condition. There is no rust on this car, never had rust in the battery box or anywhere else. We have the original California black plates with the stack of registration stickers close to a quarter inch thick, the original manual, with handwritten records of maintenance going back about 40 years.
