Originally built by Ricky Pike, this 1932 Ford features a 1932 Gibbon fiberglass Deuce Sedan body tweaked with a 2-inch chop and a Sedan Delivery door out back. The engine is a GM 350 coupled to a 700R4 transmission, covered by a Rootlieb hood and an Early Ford Store grille shell and insert. Lighting the way are a pair of ’32 commercial headlights and pedestal-mounted ’37 Ford taillamps.
The chassis was built by Mike Blewett’s Rod Shop with dropped Super Bell I-Beam, hairpin radius rods, and So-Cal shocks. The entire chassis is painted gloss black with PPG paint while the body has PPG Hot Rod flat black in contrast. Pin striping was done by Mark Peters. Brakes consist of Ford drums in the rear with So-Cal drum covers, while Wilwood disc brakes handles the job up front with hidden So-Cal Buick drum housings. Wheel Vintique wire wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich tires with 15-inch tires up front and 17-inch rubber at the rear. The rear end is a Currie 9-inch unit while a unisteer steering box handles the turns up front. Inside, the Tea’s Design seat and door panels are covered with Cognac leather. The dash sports a 6-gauge cluster housing with Stewart-Warner winged gauges. Underneath the dash panel are Vintage Air controls and vents. The windows are Specialty power windows with window cranks for switches. The Budnik steering wheel is mounted to a Limeworks column and a Gennie shifter mounts a marbled shift ball. The first adventure was bringing it home 600 miles from Arizona to Northern California. Since then, it has completed a 2,000-mile trip to “Deuce Days” in Canada, followed by a trip to Hot August Nights in Reno, Nevada without any issues.
