This fully documented and highly desirable 1969 Boss 429 Mustang features the most collectable Ford hemi head V8 ever produced, the monstrous “Boss” 429. Built originally for Ford’s NASCAR program, the massive V8 was shoe-horned into the redesigned Mustang, coupled with a four speed manual transmission and traction-lok differential and put on the street to seek and destroy any and all competition. This Boss also sports power steering and power front disc brakes bolted to a factory competition suspension system. As if that’s not enough, this incredible, fully documented Boss 429 Mustang is the lowest mile Boss 429 on the planet, showing just 56 miles on the odometer. You heard right, 56 original miles. No turning back the clock, no hanky panky; this beautiful Wimbledon white asphalt pounder was sold in Denver in 1969 to be used on the NHRA Super Stock drag racing circuit. Fortunately, the project was abandoned just weeks into the build due to NHRA rules changes and this Boss 429 was pushed to the corner and remained dormant until the mid 80’s.
KK1303 was discovered years later and subsequently moved to the dry desert air of Arizona. The Boss was reunited with its original block and went through an extensive ground up restoration. No expense was spared on NOS parts to bring this world class piece of history back to its better-than-original glory. Then it came into the capable hands of recognized Mustang expert Bob Perkins. At Bob Perkins Restorations, the Boss was painstakingly detailed to exact factory specifications. At that time, the odometer showed just 54 miles.
Now showing a scant 56 miles, KK1303 comes fully documented with its original block, original window sticker, factory delivery documentation and original owner’s card. It also comes with a full Marti report. The 1969 owner’s manual and all the factory tags complete the period correct restoration. The Boss has received numerous awards including the prestigious GOLD Award at the 2005 Boss Car Nationals in Carlisle, PA and has been featured in publications available worldwide.
