Now a well know part of super high performance European sports cars lore, Mr. Feruccio Lamborghini was born under the astrological sign of Taurus and derived many of the names of his now classic automobiles. The Miura, named after a famous Spanish fighting bull, began this naming tradition. The Miura P400 was the first of three generations of the model followed by the S and final production version dubbed the SV.
Introduced at the Geneva Motor show, year’s end saw the actual production car very closely resembling the original design by Marcello Gandini taken from early sketches done by Giorgietto Giugiaro, the head designer for the Italian Coachbuilder Bertone. The Miura is a stunning line that has well stood the test of time and is considered by many to be the pinnacle of classic Lamborghini design and performance.
Many of these ultimate Lamborghinis have been restored or modified as the many years have passed. It is a rare opportunity for any collector to find one as unmolested as this particular example. Original in most respects, the vendor has owned this Miura for many years tending to needs along the way while it has had a sheltered home within his museum collection. Collectors, historians, and restorers take note; this is a wonderful chance to own an original example of Feruccio Lamborghini’s flagship model.
